i once heard jami say that all she ever wanted to do was be in sunset magazine. her husband, matt has dreams of rolling stone and of course baby theo wants to be in infante moderna but clearly their dreams are yet to come true.

about two months ago, sunset magazine called to tell us that they had a photographer in portland and they wanted to come in and take pictures and would that be ok. would that be ok? i watched jami as she watched me wondering who i was talking to and why i looked so excited and tried hard not to be a dork at the same time. "who was that?" she asked.

after a few minutes of torturing her, i got to tell her that there would be a photog here who’s name i can’t remember, but the  writer on the phone told me that it was also a type of sushi, from SUNSET magazine.

although jami has made it, she still has a lot of work to do around here, so we won’t be closing up shop any time soon.it lists 5 "great retro bakeries". five. and we are one of them. on top of that, the only photo used was of our cute little cupcakes. this little scanned version is hard to read, but to be honest, it was even harder to scan. go get yourself a copy of the september 2007 sunset magazine. unless jami bought every copy in the greater portland area, which is possible. there is a nice recipe for a chilled pineapple gazpacho. SUNSET??!!!? we are freaking out.

we just want you to know that saint cupcake BELMONT will be closed from august 27 to september 4. yeah, we’re all going to burning man or something. right on.  but the kind folks at the nw store will be working hard to serve you! come by and see us there, eastsiders! yeah! saint cupcake nw will be open as usual!
