POSTED ON Monday, September 17, 2007 AT 22:10 by saint cupcake
we’re always in the mood to celebrate. this week, we have opted to honor the library system so from now until we close on friday, we are giving away a free dot size cupcake if you show us your library card! yeah, it is national sign up for a library card month, so if you haven’t already (and why haven’t you?!) head on down to your local library and get yourself a free membership! we just can’t get over the fact that all you need to do is fill out some papers and then those nice people let you take books for free! just remember to bring them back when you are finished. visit portland’s own: http://www.multcolib.org/ and see what’s going on at your local library (provided that you live in the multnomah county area. only then will this actually be "local")
*free dots are available ONLY at our nw location. one per customer and in hand only. other than that, we don’t have a bunch of rules governing our cupcake giveaway. we’re just cool like that.

his favorite cupcake is vanilla with vanilla buttercream. he said so. (but he’s never had one before. i mean ‘yet’.)
afterschool special this wednesday thru friday
POSTED ON Tuesday, September 04, 2007 AT 21:56 by saint cupcake
it’s hard going back to school after a summer of goofing off or "working" at a summer job. we know. it’s hard if you are a little kid and you’re going to spend 3 hours a day in kindergarten. we remember that, too. at saint cupcake, we want to celebrate you back to schoolers and here’s how we’re gonna do it:
come in this week (starting wednesday) and ask for the AFTERSCHOOL SPECIAL. you’ll get 2 dot size cupcakes, a carton a milk and a commemorative sticker all for the low price of $3! only rule is you have to be a kid. and you can’t be ditching, either. you must finish out your enitire school day. if you don’t we will call the admin office of your school and tell them that you were trying to get cupcakes instead of an education.
talk to the saint. but don’t make sense.

this email was being received by us, our cupcake bakery company, instrumentally and requested helpful ordering.
if there is anyone who reads this and can understand, your helpful insights will be appreciated.

I’m writing you from Little Rock Arkansas today.
I am interested in working with a cupcake bakery company to provide me with cupcakes that would have letters on top with the cooking wrapper that gives a message. Right now I like the mini cupcake size for this project. Our cost must be reasonable because we are govern by what we can spend. The cooking wrapper paper I can buy and printed. They would be 6 mini cupcakes packaged on a tray that holds them together.
For the purpose it will serve, I have a feeling we are talking about a large volume of orders. The packaging and name copy right is now pending.
If interested let me know.
huh.
what’s in our cupcakes?
POSTED ON Wednesday, August 29, 2007 AT 23:16 by saint cupcake
we get asked all the time what we put in our cupcakes. some want specific recipes, and we tell those people "sorry, but if we told you, we’d have to marry you and you would be committed to us for llfe." can you support all 19 of us?
well then we can’t tell you our recipes but, there are somethings that we can and will tell you. we think that you should know that our cupcakes are all natural, with the exception of a certain kind of sprinkle known as the "jimmie" but our vanilla is 100% real vanilla. some bakeries refer to it as "pure madagasgar bourbon vanilla" like they’ve hired a dude in a pith helmet to travel the world in search of this rare and exotic elixir. we do use pure madagascar bourbon vanilla, but it’s nothing to brag about because who in their right mind would you use the fake stuff
see? here’s our vanilla now. is that the september issue of SUNSET? we never really thought to brag that we use REAL pumpkin in our pumpkin spice or real lemon in our lemon cupcakes. our hot fudge and caramel topping is made from scratch with things like real heavy cream, brown sugar and butter that is real buttery. they don’t come from a jar, in fact jami spent an entire summer perfecting the recipes for both. pistachio buttercream is made with a real gelato base. fat elvis requires real bananas taken from monkeys. elvis wouldn’t have it any other way and neither would we. we don’t use stabilizers like shortening to keep our icing tall and rigid in any of our cupcakes. it didn’t even cross our minds to use "flavoring" so we didn’t. and don’t. and won’t.
so next time you see something that lists an ingredient from a far off distant land, please know that we could just as easily list our lead-free sugar and dolphin-safe peanut butter to impress you, but we won’t. what should impress you is this picture of jami enjoying pure madagasgar vanilla bourbon. after she polished off the bottle, she agreed to give a hint about the secret ingredient in our cupcakes: it’s all natural and sometimes you put it in burritos. for real.
